Men fr o m januari 2005 heter färgen amber resp lightamber.
Katterna tävlar i befintliga färggrupper.

We propose the recognition of Black Modifier (Amber/Light Amber) within the existing colors of the Norwegian Forest Cats (with the exception of red and epistatic white).

These colors shall be judged within the existing color groups for NFO.

Motivation:

So far the Black Modifier (Amber/Light Amber) has been described in NFO only, and breeders, mainly in the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany, have been working with these colors for more than a decade. The recognition show took place in Wiesbaden/Germany in january 2004, and the necessary number of cats was presented to the members of FIFe JLO commission according to the FIFe rules.

The recognition would have the following advantage:
The colors could be correctly registered in the pedigrees, which until now was not the case.
Therefore, the black modifier-cats would be marked distinctly and consistently, so that breeders cold easily identify the breeding lines for their purposes or avoid them if they are not desired.
